CAISO RESOURCE IMPLEMENTATION SERVICES

Electric Power Engineers, Inc. guides distribution and transmission projects through the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) new resource implementation process by providing support for the submission of each of the CAISO Buckets to successfully complete resource interconnection to the ISO grid.

The CAISO "Bucket" system is derived from the generation project estimated synchronization date and specifies interconnection deliverable approval deadline dates. The CAISO review and approval requires 10 to 15 days from the time a generator owner submits a deliverable. If a deadline date is not met, document processing stops and a new synchronization must be established. EPE will help during this process to make sure that the proposed generation project meets all deadlines for each Bucket submission to maintain the desired synchronization date.

The diagram below summarizes the activities needed during the final 210 days of interconnection projects to successfully complete resource interconnection to the CAISO grid.
