EPE VP of Technical Services & Compliance, Billy Yancey, and EPE VP of T&D Planning & Operations, Tim Kopp, will speak on a panel at POWERGEN International® 2024 in New Orleans, LA.

POWERGEN takes place January 23 – 25, 2024 and stands as the premier networking and business hub for power generation professionals and solution providers. Bringing together power producers, utilities, EPCs, consultants, OEMs, and large-scale energy users, it serves as a platform to explore innovative solutions amid the shift towards cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.

Billy and Tim will be joined by Bhaskar Ray, VP of Interconnection and Development Engineering at Q CELLS, and Stephanie Imamovic, Manager of Transmission Policy and Contracts at Puget Sound Energy. The panel is titled “Resolving gridlock: Innovative solutions for overcoming interconnection queue challenges,” and will take place on Wednesday, January 24 at 10:45 AM in Room 215.

Growing interconnection queue backlogs in the U.S. are delaying the expansion of renewable energy sources. This panel will explain the current state of the interconnection process and its implications on grid management. The panelists will discuss the solutions to the backlog challenge, emphasizing innovative workforce development, staff augmentation and significant changes by ISOs and RTOs to streamline the interconnection process.
