Background
Glendale Water & Power (GWP) is a municipal utility company located in Glendale, CA. GWP provides the community with essential services related to water and electricity. As a Publicly-Owned Utility (POU), GWP is dedicated to delivering reliable and sustainable utility services to its residents and businesses. Due to recent mandates by the CPUC that utilities in California have their Wildfire Mitigation Plans (WMP) reviewed on a yearly basis, GWP was seeking to partner with an experienced consulting firm to conduct the review.
Challenge
The project required a consultant to identify other utilities with WMPs
and conduct research to identify common trends as well as specifically mandated or required details that these plans must address.
Approach
EPE would conduct thorough research on various WMPs and applied our findings to conduct an in-depth review of GWP's plan.
Solution
Our deliverables included a comprehensive summary of proposed revisions, along with a marked-up version of their plan featuring insightful comment, additional details, and track changes for GWP's consideration, allowing them to accept or reject the suggested modifications.
