Preliminary Design Services and Owner’s Engineer Support for Elawan Energy’s Pitts Dudik Solar Project

Background

EPE played a vital role in this 50 MW solar energy project located in Pitts County, Texas. The project involved EPE providing crucial preliminary design services and owner's engineer support.

Challenge

The project faced challenges inherent in the preliminary design phase, EPC bid evaluations, and the comprehensive review of civil and electrical engineering designs. Coordination and support through various technical meetings, design reviews, and construction demanded a meticulous approach to ensure the project's success and alignment with Elawan Energy’s standards.

Approach

EPE addressed the challenges by leveraging its expertise in preliminary design services, bid evaluations, and detailed engineering reviews. The team provide Main Power Transformer specification preparation and bid evaluation, technical support associated with transmission line crossing, and review of the conceptual design of the interconnection station.

EPE also provided solar park civil design review, substation electrical design review, and substation civil design review. The team performed a pre-tanking inspection of the Main Power Transformer, as well as Main Power Transformer factory acceptance test witnessing. EPE continued to provide technical support throughout construction of the project.

Solution

The collaboration resulted in the successful development of the Pitts Dudik solar project in Pitts County, Texas. EPE's contributions in preliminary design, bid evaluations, and engineering reviews played a vital role in the project's progress and ability to adhere to high quality standards.
