Jorge Chacon is a seasoned professional with over 27 years of experience in Transmission and Distribution Planning. He has deep technical expertise in the electric power system, including the planning, permitting, construction, and operation of transmission and distribution facilities. Jorge has led planning studies for load growth, new generation, and energy storage interconnections, and sponsored many major transmission projects, including Southern California Edison’s Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project, Eldorado-Ivanpah Transmission Project, and the West-of-Devers Transmission Project to name a few. An expert in Subtransmission and Transmission planning, he has utilized GE’s PSLF software, mentored engineers, and improved planning execution. Jorge is also skilled in defining strategies to meet California’s electrification goals and effectively communicates critical information to management within power utilities and agencies like CAISO, CPUC, and FERC.
