Featuring Jorge Chacon, EPE Technical Director, Interconnection Services
The pace of data center development is far exceeding the addition of new generation and transmission assets to reliably deliver power to data centers. With major data centers in development and already established across the Mountain West, questions are arising about how much load they are adding to the western power grid, how soon these huge news loads will emerge, whether the grid and its infrastructure will be able to meet it and about how clean or renewable the energy being used to power them is. This panel will explore the drivers and potential constraints for developing hyperscale data centers in the region.
