Many well-capitalized developers have enough safe harbored equipment and robust pipelines for the next 4 years, but eventually the industry must face the reality of an end to tax credits and incentives. It’s estimated that 30% of solar and 57% of onshore wind capacity are resilient to ITC and PTC expirations by achieving a before-tax LCOE below their respective markets’ forward power and REC prices without relying on tax credits.
