About Carlos

Carlos Matar is the Vice President of MENA Operations at EPE, leading the Lebanon Energy Resources team with a primary focus on Interconnection Services in ERCOT. He oversees a team of highly skilled engineers, ensuring the seamless execution of complex energy projects while driving efficiency, reliability, and growth.

As EPE’s subject matter expert in ERCOT, Carlos specializes in the interconnection of utility-scale projects, including solar, wind, battery energy storage systems, and large loads. Under his leadership, the team delivers tailored solutions that help clients navigate regulatory requirements, streamline project timelines, and achieve successful grid integration.

With extensive experience in the energy sector, Carlos has guided numerous developers through the interconnection process, managing applications across multiple U.S. markets and leading projects from initial planning through design, engineering, procurement, and construction.  His expertise ensures a smooth transition to commercial operations while mitigating risks and optimizing performance.

Carlos has also served as an owner’s engineer for renewable energy projects, providing expert technical support to ensure compliance with interconnection requirements and industry best practices. His leadership fosters strong client partnerships and reinforces EPE’s commitment to delivering innovative and reliable energy solutions.
